Terrell Lloyd – Extreme Photographer

In telling the video stories of professional photographers working with digital media storage, we have had the great opportunity to work with some very talented and exciting photographers.  You can see the video we did with living legend, Jay Maisel, here: http://thebigpicture.tv/blog/2009/10/jay-maisel-documentary/

Meet Terrell Lloyd.  Terrell is a talented professional photographer that has worked in the Bay Area and United States for nearly 20 years.  he is well known for his sporting event photos, and has what some would call a dream job, snapping photos of the 49ers for the last 12 seasons.  Take a look at this inspiring video where we see him working with the action, close to it and capturing it.

Jay Maisel Documentary

Jay Maisel has been a fixture on the New York Art scene since the 50′s. He has a huge body of work that encompasses 13 books and 15 one-man shows.  He is known for his richly saturated, vibrant images that poignantly capture moments involving man, city, light and movement.  He has won several awards including the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame, American Society of Media Photographers’ Photographer of the Year Award and the International Center of Photography’s Infinity Award.

We took the approach of a Day in the Life of Jay Maisel, and followed him and his camera (which is perpetually at his side) around New York City.  We were able to expose the history of the famous Bowery building which he purchased in Manhattan as his creative space.

We were amused by his practical approach to technology and digital photography – the more he could shoot in one go and carry with him the better! – and we were honored to be invited into his inspiring world of art.

Prostate Blues – Telly Award Winner 2008

We started out just doing a favor for our friend, Fred Grange, and we ended up winning the 2008 Telly Award for “Prostate Blues” produced by in-house producer Claudia Lang.

Produced for the Marin General Prostate Cancer Support Group, the purpose of the video is to raise awareness of both the importance of regular and early screening for men of a certain ago, and also the importance of support groups for those with prostate cancer.  We tried to get these messages across while still highlighting the human element which is what it is all about at the end of the day.
