World AIDS Day 2011
Posted by TheBigPicture in Interviews on December 1st, 2011
Today is World AIDS Day, a day where people have the opportunity to unite worldwide in the fight against HIV. One of the most remarkable aspects of today is the ability to uncover the real facts about AIDS as well as bust some of the myths that plague the disease and add a high degree of social stigma to those who have contracted it. Last week Chris and Kristen went to San Francisco
to film interviews with an extraordinary group of people who also happen to be HIV positive. Today these interviews, as well as others conducted in New York and Miami, will be airing every hour to introduce everyone to the faces of AIDS. I encourage everyone to check out the link before and hope you will be as moved and inspired as we were.

Zero Breast Cancer – Honor Thy Healer
Posted by TheBigPicture in Philanthropic on May 12th, 2011
Zero Breast Cancer is a Marin-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping to determine the causes of breast cancer through community participation in the research process. They are just down the street from us and we have been a proud supporter of them for many years. They hold an annual fundraising event, Honor Thy Healer, to honor healers in the community.
We’d like to share a part of the video that we created for the event, and if you have the time please check in with them at www.zerobreastcancer.org to learn more about this very important organization.
Proud sponsors of “Youth in Arts”
Posted by TheBigPicture in Philanthropic on November 9th, 2010
Staying in line with our previous post, concering support of community art programs, we went back to the archives to pull this video that was put together for Marin County non-profit, Youth in Arts.
Youth In Arts is a Marin based non-profit that provides after school programs and community events that promote education and arts for primarily low-income youth in the Area. They have a teen acapella ensemble, “‘Til Dawn”, and put on an annual Italian Street Painting Festival, of which The Big Picture Film & Video Arts is a Proud Sponsor.

Mille Grazie Party for Youth in Arts
Posted by TheBigPicture in Events, Philanthropic on August 6th, 2010
Last night we attended the Mille Grazie Party in salute of volunteers, artists, entertainers and sponsors from the Italian Street Painting Festival.
Located at A.G. Ferrari in Corte Madera and sponsored by Youth in Arts and A.G. Ferrari, this first-class event featured exquisite food, excellent wine and an eclectic crowd of people passionate about Youth in Arts.
Host Isabella was pouring fine wines that we couldn’t help but purchase a few bottles of… in support of Youth in Arts, of course.
The evening was a wonderful thank you gift for being part of a festival that is near and dear to The Big Picture’s heart.
Can’t wait ‘till next year’s festival!!!
2010 4th of July at Louis M. Martini Winery

The Big Picture had the opportunity to get up close and personal (again!) to shoot this year’s 2010 fireworks at the beautiful Louis M. Martini Winery in Napa. Check out the show!
The Big Picture sponsors Italian Street Painting Festival
Posted by TheBigPicture in Philanthropic on June 15th, 2010
Each year in June, local San Rafael non-profit youth organization “Youth in Arts“, transforms A street in downtown San Rafael into a canvas for the Italian Street Painting Festival. We involve ourselves with this each year in some way, and this year we sponsored a large 9′ 12′ foot piece by local artist Tricia George
This festival is a double win – it brings beauty and creativity to our community, drawing revellers from all of the Bay Area, and it raises funds for Marin Youth programs.
Twin Cities Police Department on the cutting edge with tamper-proof digital storage
Posted by TheBigPicture in Internal Corporate Messaging, Video News Release on June 11th, 2010
Crime scene investigations have become more and more of an exact science. The standards for proper evidence collection are raised higher on a daily basis, with challenges from both the courts and defense attorneys alike.
SanDisk has created the SDWorm card, a tamper-proof digital storage device that we created a video for to demonstrate how it protects law enforcement officers by guaranteeing the legitimacy of evidence.
The Twin Cities Police Authority of Larkspur, California worked with us on this to set up a crime scene and provide us with testimonials on how this product could be beneficial to them. They are great people and we really enjoyed working with them. But make no mistake, if you mess around they will have you in handcuffs!
Stay tuned for the final video, and click any of the pictures below to get to the flickr album with more great shots!
