Pioneers & Purpose

On Wednesday September 5th The Big Picture produced the Pioneers & Purpose event, held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA.  Hosted by NBC Bay Area news anchor Jessica Aguirre, a powerful (and hilarious) speech from comedian Michael Pritchard, and with over 720 people in attendance, the Pioneers and Purpose Event raised over $1.3 million dollars!  Congratulations to Muhammed Chaudhry and Paul Humphries for developing such a successful program.  We at The Big Picture are proud to be able to bring our resources together for this event that is very close to our heart.

AIDS Walk San Francisco

The San Francisco AIDS Walk is a fundraiser benefiting the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.  For 25 years people from all over the Bay Area meet at Sharon Meadows in Golden Gate Park and walk 10 Kilometers in hopes of someday finding a cure for AIDS.  On Sunday, July 15th The Big Picture’s very own Renée and her Mom, Judy participated in the 6 mile walk, raising over $900 between the two of them!  As a sponsor to the cause, we applaud Renée and Judy’s efforts and hard work.

Just Trying to Get Some Credit Here…

Proof Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Program Can Rocket You to Success:

In 2009, The Big Picture discovered Bryan Pate and the Elliptigo at the Cool Gadget Expo at Stanford.  As part of the 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards show, we proudly exploited the benefits of this innovative machine.  Created by Bryan and Brent in San Diego, the Elliptigo is essentially an elliptical machine for the road!  The Elliptigo has single handedly brought back running to avid runners with injured knees and hips who can only preform low impact exercising.

Recently, an Elliptigo rider from San Anselmo, CA was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle!  Check out his story along with The Big Picture’s involvement with the Elliptigo at the 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year show.  We are proud to have discovered them:

Welcome to The Big Picture Team, Ben!

Ben spent the last 7 years working as a contract Director/Producer/Designer/Editor (what he refers to as a slashy) specializing in high quality films and animations for broadcast and corporate videos. Some of his clients included the Wall Street Journal, Hard Rock Café and others. And for over 3 years he was the Creative Director and Editor of “Warriors Weekly,” a behind-the-scenes TV show for the Golden State Warriors. He is one of those rare Bay Area natives and enjoys the combination of great weather, outdoor activities and people here in NorCal. His wife, Jaime, is awesome and is expecting a little one in July. Ben’s looking forward to combining his love of creating visual stories and working here at the Big Picture.  We are so excited to have him on our team!
