The Big Picture took a walk down Fifth Street today to ham it up in front of a picture of…well, us! As we mentioned last July Circle Bank chose The Big Picture to represent one of their local small business clients in an advertisement. The Big Picture Looking to Hire PowerPoint Designer

The Big Picture is looking for an experienced PowerPoint designer/producer to help create several PowerPoint presentations throughout the year for one of our tech clients. The client would provide the initial content, but the designer would work in conjunction with The Big Picture to develop the story. The ideal candidate would have strong PowerPoint skills, ability to tell a story, good communication skills, ability to present presentation over a teleconference, and ability to commute to the San Jose Area (Client location).

The Big Picture Seeking Editor/Production Assistant

The Big Picture Film & Video Arts is a full service production company based in San Rafael. We are looking for an Editor/Production Assistant to join our 6 person team. This position offers a great opportunity for creative and professional growth. We would like the candidate to have the potential to develop into a Producer/Editor who can handle video projects independently, both in acquisition and editorial.

 

Job description:

Final Cut Pro editing, and media management

Maintain equipment, and prepare equipment and production van for upcoming shoots

Assist on set as production assistant, with potential to take on camera/lighting/audio recording/producing

Capture, backup and organize incoming footage. Maintain archives and current projects.

Encode and upload videos for review and delivery

Create DVD projects and print DVDs

Dub video tapes

Input ideas in creative meetings

 

The following skills are necessary for this position:

Full working knowledge of Final Cut Pro is essential

Understanding of the principles of video compression, and knowledge of Compressor and/or other
similar programs

Working knowledge of:
DVD studio pro, Photoshop

Knowledge of After Effects and Illustrator a bonus

Knowledge of camera operations and audio recording a bonus

Good communication skills

Willingness to work as a team and take direction

Desire to grow creatively and professionally

Getting Ready for the Holidays!

It’s December 1st which by our standards, is practically Christmas. We’ve been running around the office like little elves decorating the tree, trying on silly hats, and raiding the thrift store around the corner for all of its dorky Christmas sweaters. Below you can see a few pictures from our Christmas card video shoot…but you’ll have to wait a week to see the final video!

The Big Picture Seeks Two Interns For Fall Semester

The Big Picture seeks highly energetic and motivated interns to train in both the production office, on location, and in the editing suite for the upcoming fall semster. Current students in the field are highly encouraged to apply for this non-paying internship and must be enrolled in a college or university that will issue school credit.

Strongly preferred (but not required) tools of the trade:

•Live locally in the Bay Area
•Have own vehicle with a current driver’s license
•Strong communication skills
•Research skills (including use of internet based search engines)
•Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
•Good organizational skills
•At least one full day a week available
•Mac and/or Final Cut Pro experience preferred

The Big Picture takes home three Telly Awards

The 32nd annual Telly Awards were announced recently and The Big Picture is honored to have received three Telly Awards.  The Telly Awards receive over 13,000 entries annually from the finest ad agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable companies, interactive agencies and corporations from around the world.  It is a remarkable achievement to be selected for recognition.

2011 4th of July at Louis M. Martini Winery

In what is become an annual tradition (this will be the third time) The Big Picture will have the opportunity to shoot this year’s fireworks at the beautiful Louis M. Martini winery in Napa.

The show is choreographed to music for a fully immersive sound and light experience.  Check out the show from last Year!
